Obituary of Nita Bryant
Nita S. Bryant, age 79, of Pleasant Valley, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. Nita was born November 27, 1933 in Sydney, NY. She is the daughter of the late Leland and the late Ruth (Dewey) Silvernail. She married William Bryant on November 27, 1954 in Oneonta, NY.
She is survived by her husband: William Bryant of Pleasant Valley, NY and three children, Margaret Bryant and her partner Teri Walker of Carrollton, TX, Julie Bryant of Kingston, NY and Michael Bryant and his wife Jill of Aurora , IL
Nita is also survived by several brothers and sisters: Ruth (Silvernail) Bell and her husband Clifford of Oneonta, NY; Fred Silvernail and his wife Dorothy of Conway, SC; Neal Silvernail and his wife Elaine of Rhinebeck, NY; Mike Silvernail and his wife Karen of Largo, FL; Joeann (Silvernail) Buerkert and her husband Charles of Tomball, TX; Sharon (Silvernail) Ellison and her husband Skip of Syracuse, NY and Larry Silvernail and his wife Julie of Rochester, NY.
Nita was a floral designer for local florists. She was also an excellent cook. She won cooking contests and eagerly shared her recipes with family and friends. She was active with her husband Bill in the Mid-Hudson Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Nita and Bill travelled the country in their motorhome. She was a member of and past officer in the GMC Colonial Travelers RV club, as well as member of GMC Nor'Easters RV club and GMC Motorhomes International.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY
