Obituary of Maria Ortiz

Maria A Ortiz 82 of Poughquag, New York passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013 at the Lutheran Care Facility. Born July 10, 1931 in San Miguel El Salvador, is the daughter of the late Eugenio and the late Concepcion Guevara Cardenas. In Santiago DeMaria, El Salvador in 1955, Maria married Manuel Ortiz, he survives at home. Maria has been a local resident since 1981, previously of Peekskill, New York. Maria had her degree in teaching, she loved to take care of her grandchildren, enjoyed crocheting, knitting and Bible Studies. Maria is survived by her husband at home; daughter and son in-law Jenny and Alan Arnfield of Poughquag, NY; son and daughter in-law Manuel and Margaret Ortiz of Arizona; son Edwin Ortiz of California; son and daughter in-law Erik and Joanna Ortiz of Florida. Maria is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Erin, Shannon, Christian, Manny Jr., Felicia, Jesse, Chelsea, Crystal, Kimberly, Daniel, Jennifer, Brandon, Brianna and Taylor; 5 great grandchildren, Isabella, Mikaela, Jaeson, Manny III and Mason. Calling hours will take place on Friday November 29, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday November 30, 2013 at the Poughquag United Methodist Church, Poughquag, New York. Burial will follow the service in the Church Cemetery.
