Obituary of R. Krishna

R. Vasantha Krishna, age 76, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dr Krishna was born May 28, 1937 in Mysore, India he was the son of Ramarao and Rathna Rao Krishna. He married Vasantha Kumari Martin on February 13, 1963 in Schenectady, New York. Dr. and Mrs. Krishna were happily married for 50 years. He retired from Hudson River State Hospital in 1996 were he was employed as a Doctor. Dr Krishna Krishna was a member of Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church and the Hindu Samaj. has been a local resident since 1965, previously from Schenectady, NY and Mysore India. He was an avid golfer He is survived by his wife: Vasantha Kumari(Martin) Krishna one son: Arun Kumar Krishna of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter and son In-law, Navina Krishna and Richard Hooker of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter and son In-law, Preya Krishna and David Kennedy of Albany, NY; Grandchildren, Emily, James, Anna And Naya. Dr. Krishna was predeceased by his sister, Lalitha Rao, brother, Ranga Rao. Calling hours will be Monday, December 9 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service will be held at 12pm. at the funeral home, with a cremation service to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY.
