Obituary of Shirley Klein

Shirley Klein, age 89, of Poughkeepsie, , died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. Shirley was born March 21, 1924 in New Bedford, Mass. She is the daughter of the late John A. and the late Mary Ellen (Burke) MacIsaac. She married John Klein on September 20, 1952 in Sharon CT. John predeceased her 1990. Shirley was a member of St. Martin dePorres Church. A local resident all her life, Shirley and her husband John were the owners of the College Drug Luncheonette in Arlington for many years retiring in 1979. After retiring from the luncheonette Shirley worked in the cafeteria at Ketchum High School. Shirley is survived by; step son, John Klein of Hyde Park, NY; brother and sister in-law, Marty and Eleanor MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie, NY; brother and sister in-law, Edward and Bernice MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie, NY., sister and brother in-law Hazel and Elting Raquet of Poughkeepsie, NY and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her Brothers, Daniel, John, Harold, Duncan, Francis, Fred MacIsaac, and her two sisters, Mary Ellen Schade, Sister, Margaret McAmblay and step son Gary Klein. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 12 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Martin dePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
