Obituary of James Staffa

James L. Staffa, Sr., age 66, of Pleasant Valley, died Friday, January 10, 2014 surrounded by his family at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. James was born March 18, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late Louis F. and the late Viola (Schwartz) Staffa. He married Linda L. Hotaling on November 4, 1965 in Poughkeepsie, New York, Linda survives him at home. He served in the Marine Corps. He was employed by Marist College Poughkeepsie New York as a Security Officer. A local resident all his life, he loved to hunt, fish and work on small engines and cars. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife: Linda L.(Hotaling) Staffa of pleasant Valley, NY.; daughter: Diana Staffa of Pleasant Valley, NY; sister: Henrietta Staffa of TX; brother: Anthony Staffa of Hyde Park, NY; granddaughter, Jas Dimitriou and her husband Jason of Millbrook, NY; randson, Robert L. Lee of Pleasant Valley, NY; grandson, John H. Taylor of Pleasant Valley, NY and several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his son, James L. Staffa Jr. in 2008, brother, John Staffa, brother, Vernon Staffa. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
