Obituary of Patricia Ryff

Patricia Ann Ryff, 71, of Portsmouth, NH and a former longtime Poughkeepsie resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Born on August 25, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Alberta Wood. Patricia married Francis Ryff on May 6, 1978 in Poughkeepsie, NY and he survives in Portsmouth, NH. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an honorary member in the New York State Fire Police Association and the Dutchess County Police Officers Association. She loved to spend time with her family, read, do crossword puzzles, listen to music, attend painting and ceramic's classes, and going to the park down by the water with her husband and dog. Patricia was very active in the First United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, NH. She was part of the churches peace circle, and helped those in need as she would go to people's homes who could not regularly attend church services. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her sons and daughter; Gregory Staffa and his wife Helen of Staatsburg, NY; Eugene Staffa and his fiancée Melissa of Coxsachie, NY; Thomas Staffa and his wife Patricia of Wallkill, NY; Lisa (Ryff) Saraceno, her husband Robert and son Christian of Saugus, MA, grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Judith Pells and Lorraine Traver, and brother, Lorenzo Wood Jr. Friends may call at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY on Friday, March 7th, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at 11 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery in Fishkill NY.
