Obituary of Madeline Hadden
Madeline (Anthony) Hadden, 73, passed away to join her Heavenly Father along with her mother and father and the rest of her deceased family members on March 31, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center. Born on May 28, 1940 in Poughkeepsie to Franklin Lawrence Anthony and Camille Elizabeth Licato Anthony. She attended Poughkeepsie & Hyde Park Schools. She also graduated with a license to practice cosmetology and had her own salon for many years. She is survived by her loving husband Paul of 51 years. She is also survived by her sons, Patrick and his wife Christine ( Murphy) Hadden of Charlotte, N.C.; Jay and his wife Julie Hadden and her four loving grandchildren: Corinne Polocko and husband Brian, Kimber Lee, Chelsea Lynn, and Jay Joseph Hadden all of Poughkeepsie; her great-granddaughter Amber Polocko; also surviving her are two loving siblings, sister Lorraine Anthony Higgins and her companion George Johnson of Poughkeepsie, and a brother Frank G. Anthony and his wife Anna (Conforti) Anthony of Chattanooga, TN with whom she shared a wonderful relationship. She had several nieces & nephews and many cousins. Madeline had many friends from her class of 1958 Poughkeepsie & Roosevelt High Schools. She wore many colored hats because she loved to do many jobs from Hairdressing to Secretarial, to Secretary at the First Congregational Church, to Dr. S. Kofsky from Receptionist to Dental Receptionist to Dental Assisting and finally a Medical secretary to Dr. L. K. Parashar for 10 years. She was an avid NY Mets fan. She thrilled over the '86 Mets & Gary Carter. She loved going to Atlantic City, Traveling to Maine, New Hampshire and visiting relatives in other parts of the country. She will be missed by her family and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The following day, Friday April 4, 2014 there will be a requiem Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel. Interment will be at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Mausoleum Building #2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
