Obituary of Laura Jean Zampko

Laura Jean Zampko, 67, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully Monday, March 31, 2014 at home after a long illness. Born in Poughkeepsie on December 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Wilford and late Catherine Craig Parkton. On October 21, 1967 Laura married Martin Zampko at St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie. Laura had worked for the Bank of New York as a teller, retiring in January 2001. She loved painting, traveling and decorating for the holidays but most of all spending time with her two grandsons. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Martin Zampko, of Poughkeepsie, a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Christopher Frettoloso, two grandsons, Christopher and Logan Frettoloso, all of Carmel NY, a son, Craig Zampko of Poughkeepsie and her sister Barbara Van Vlack of Cornwall,NY. Laura is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. At the family's request there will be a private graveside service and no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Laura's memory to Sparrow's Nest of Hudson Valley. The website is www.sparrowsnestcharity.com.
