Obituary of Walter McLaughlin

Walter L. McLaughlin, age 77, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Mid Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Walter was born March 22, 1937 in Ticonderoga, NY. He is the son of and the late Audrey (Swinton) McLaughlin . He married Shirley A. Curran who predeceased him in 1977. He was a retired employee of St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie NY were he was the Manager of the X-ray Department. After his retirement Walter went to work at the Hudson Valley Heart Center doing Nuclear Imaging. Walter was a graduate from Plattsburg College, he loved to watch his granddaughter ride horses and enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his daughter and son In-law, Kim and Francesco Chiarella of Pleasant Valley, NY; grandchildren, Dominique Chiarella and Dale Kosakowski. Walter was also predeceased by his Brother, Kenneth McLaughlin. Calling hours will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 11:30 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie New York at the convenience of the family.
