Obituary of Charles Huttel
Charles Huttel passed away on August 3, 2014 surrounded by loving family at his home in Poughquag, NY. He was born April 20, 1921 in Queens, NY to Frank and Ann Huttel, sisters Mickey and Anne, Brother Pete. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean and cherished son, Chuck. He is survived by his three sons; William (Gail), Kenneth (Kathy) and Daniel (Nicole), his 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Signalman 2nd Class, and then worked as a corrections officer in Greenhaven Correctional Facility for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Beekman Fire Department. The Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the care provided by Hospice of Dutchess/Ulster County. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Dutchess/Ulster County or the Beekman Fire Department. He will be missed by many, and forgotten by none. He cared for everyone and asked for nothing in return. He will be missed terribly. There are no calling hours. Funeral Services will be held on August 6, 2014 at 11:00am at the Poughquag Methodist Church, 21 Church St., Poughquag, NY, followed by refreshments at the Beekman Fire Department.
