Obituary of Therese McGough

Therese L. McGough, 85, of Poughkeepsie, NY died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a 6 year battle with cancer. Born on November 7, 1928 in Quebec City, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Odile Beaulieu Blanchet. She had been a local resident for 6 years living with her daughter and son in-law and previously lived in Vermont. Therese married Lawrence McGough on May 21, 1949 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Highlands, NJ and he predeceased her on April 7, 2009. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Therese is survived by her children; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Diane McGough of Colorado Springs, daughter and son-in-law Terri and Mike Fiorillo of Poughkeepsie, NY, son Paul McGough of Colchester, VT, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Pamela McGough of Fairfax, VT, as well as her grandchildren Michael and Richard Fiorillo, Katina McCartney, Erik and Evan McGough and great-grandchildren Lanee and Caity McCartney. Therese is also survived by her brothers Jacques (Jeannette) Blanchet, Rosaire (Louise) Blanchet, Patrick (Therese) Blanchet and Hilaire Blanchet, her sisters Corinne Larerdie, Constance (Gilles) Cloutier, Edmonde (Raymond) Parent and Marcelle (Gerry) Dorval. Additionally she is survived by her favorite cousins Cecile and Jean Fournier, special niece Lynn Hughes and special friends Flo N., Marie S. and Shirley L. The Family would like to thank Dr. R. Rachamalla and entire staff, especially Paula and Darlene for the care given to Therese. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. A service will be held at 1:00pm, in the funeral home, and entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
