Obituary of Petrina Mazure

Petrina Mazure, 87, went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2014 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She went peacefully with family at her side. Petrina was born in NYC on June 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Nunzio Sanfilippo and Maria (Sue) Macaluso. She attended the Traphagen School of Art and was a dress designer in Manhattan. After moving to the Mid Hudson Valley with her late husband Alexander Mazure, she became a devoted mother and continued to pursue her lifelong love of Painting, Art and Portraiture. She is survived by her current husband Robert Nash who she has known since her childhood, her daughter Mary Lyons, son in law Bruce Lyons, her son Alexander G Mazure, daughter in law Carol Mazure, her grandchildren Alex Mazure, Greg Mazure and Eva Lyons, her loving Nieces, Great Nieces and Nephews, and many loyal friends. In the few weeks before her passing it gave her great comfort for her to say "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Calling hours will be held Monday September 8, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 11am Tuesday September 9, 2014 in the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
