Obituary of Janet Haddad

Janet M. Haddad, age 88, of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Janet was born April 16, 1926 in Worcester, MA. She is the daughter of the late Arthur T. and the late Margaret (Bonoyer) Scanlon Sr. She married Michael M. Haddad on October 3, 1955 in Worcester Mass.. She retired from Dutchess Community College as a Secretary in 1995. Janet has been a local resident since 1956, previously of Worcester Mass. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and did attended College. Janet enjoyed reading, traveling, loved the Hudson River, Cape Cod, Art, History, her pets and birds. Janet also liked collectibles and she was a nature lover. She is survived by her husband: Michael M. Haddad of Poughkeepsie, daughter: Lorraine Haddad of Virginia; daughter and son In-law, Michele and Chris Yum of Maine; grandchildren, Stephanie and Gregory Yum; brother and sister In-law, Arthur T. and Sandra Scanlon II of Massachusetts. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Rural Cemetery, 180 Grove Street, Worcester, MA. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
