Obituary of Edmund Schmidt

Edmund Schmidt Sr. 75, passed away September 16, 2014. He was born July 21, 1939, in Russia, the son of Rudolph and Herta Schmidt. Edmund was a 30 year employee of K&R Handbag where he worked as a Foreman & Leather Cutter. He retired in 1993. He resided in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Edmund most enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends at barbecues, birthday parties, flea markets or sittin around drinkin coffee with his neighbors. He will never be forgotten and will be deeply missed! He will forever be loved by everyone in his family. In death he will be joining his Wife of 47 years Annamarie Schmidt (Turtle). They were married November 4th. 1956. Edmund is survived by; his sister Irma Curran; his son Edmund Schmidt Jr.; his daughter Natasha Turner & her husband Carl Turner Sr.; his daughter Donna Schmidt; his son Joseph Schmidt Sr.; and his many Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. He will also be missed by the many friends whose lives he has touched. Family and friends will gather from 4p.m. to 8p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Timothy P Doyle Funeral Home Inc . 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He will be laid to rest Monday September 22, 2014 at 10a.m., with his wife Annamarie, at a graveside service in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park N.Y.
