Obituary of Dorothy Lindmark

Dorothy Evelyn Couse Lindmark, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Sykesville, MD. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Adaline Crapser Couse. Dorothy had been a local resident for 79 years prior to moving to Sykesville, MD. She attended Poughkeepsie High School and Vassar Hospital Nursing School. Dorothy worked as an RN at Vassar Brothers Hospital, retiring in 1972. She married Eric "Swede" Lindmark on April 29, 1957 at St. John's Church and he predeceased her on December 2, 1988. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Dorothy is survived by her daughters; Debbie Lindmark Young and her husband John, of Woodbine, MD, Cheryl Lindmark Moreau and her husband Bill, of LaGrangeville, NY, Karen Lindmark Summerlin and her husband Jeff, of Hyde Park, NY and Kim Lindmark of Hamden, CT. Also surviving are her grandchildren Heather Fast, Jessica Collins, Kyle Moreau, Lindsay Moreau, Erica Summerlin, Meghan Summerlin, Alysha Lindmark and Troy Lindmark, as well as her great-grandchildren Clynton Collins and Charlye Fast and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Harold and Donald Couse. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Additionally, there will be a visitation from 9:30-10:00am prior to the Funeral Service which will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church.
