Obituary of Eileen Forshey

Eileen M. Forshey, 66, of Wappingers Falls, NY died Monday, September 29, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Previously of Yonkers, NY, Eileen had been a local resident since December 1993. Born on April 30, 1948 in Coolderry Birr, Ireland, she was the daughter of John and Lena Kennedy. From 1967 to 1983, Eileen was a nun in the Silesians Order. On August 7, 1989, Eileen married Thomas F. Forshey in New Bridge County Kildare, Ireland and he survives her at home. Eileen was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church and she loved people, working in the yard and loved her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Eileen is survived by her brothers Sean Kennedy of Switzerland, Oliver Kennedy of Ireland, Tommy Kennedy of England and her sisters Mary Fitzgerald of Ireland, Delores O'Shea of Ireland and Maura Wall of Ireland. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, her brother-in-law August Forshey of Queens, NY and her sister-in-law Adelaide Kem of Washington, DC. Eileen was predeceased by a sister, Eta Goodwin, brother Fr. Christopher Kennedy and her brother-in-law Harold Forshey. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
