Obituary of Kyuong Ryu

Kyuong Hwan Ryu, 78, of Poughkeepsie, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital following surgery due to a chronic illness. He was born in Seoul Korea on January 25, 1936. He moved to the United States in 1965 and completed his OB/GYN training at Columbia University. He was in private practice his entire career in Fishkill, NY until his retirement in 2001. "Ky" is survived by his wife of 48 years, Daisy Sauri, his three children Byuong Chull (Patine), Byuong Corey(Michele), Sheryl Dawson(Michael), his mother, Jum Soon Kim, his brothers Kyuong Hwa, and Kyuong Bae, his sister Young Ja Huh, his 12 grandchildren and many other family members. Calling Hours will take place Friday October 17, 2014 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A graveside service will take place Saturday October 18, 2014 at 10am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery
