Obituary of Kevin Cornett

Kevin Barry Cornett, of Poughkeepsie New York, passed away Thursday evening, December 11, 2014 in his home. Kevin was born September 19, 1955 in Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Valley West High School in 1974, Iowa State University in 1978 with a degree in Mathematics, and the University of Syracuse in 1983 with a Masters degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Kevin gave 33 years of dedicated service to IBM, retiring in 2011. Kevin was both a student and teacher throughout his life; continuously seeking and welcoming discourse of new ideas, while devoting his retirement to tutoring mathematics and spending time with friends and family. Kevin is survived by his daughter Clare Marie and her husband Shawn Razzaque of Columbia, Md and sons James Andrew and John Barry II of Wappingers Falls, Ny. He is also survived by his mother Barbara, father John Barry and his wife Judith, younger brother and sister David and Lisabeth, as well as nieces and nephews. He was sadly predeceased by his younger brother Robert in 1987. Friends may call Monday, December 15, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Timothy P.
