Obituary of Jean Traver

Jean H. Traver, age 90, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Jean was born July 16, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late James R. and the late Maude (Pierson) Purdy. She married Maurice E. "Kniff" Traver. Jean was an Artist and also taught Art for the Arlington Adult Education. Jean was a member of Arlington Reformed Church, Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie , NY. Jean was a graduate of Arlington High School and she took painting classes with Emil Walters. Jean loved painting and she was involved with Dutchess County Art's Association and the Kent Art's Association. She is survived by ;Son And Daughter In-law, Todd J. And Carol Traver of Croton On Hudson, NY; Son And Daughter In-law, Scott R. And Denise Traver of Harwich, MA; Grandchildren, Christopher J. Traver, Robin McKeran; Sara Istvan; Great Grandchildren, Rene Yurgartis, Dean Istvan. Predeceased by her Sister, Josephine Pultz. The family would like to Thank the Men or as Jean referred to them " The Boys" of the Arlington Fire Department for all of their help and assistance. The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY with officiating. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Calling hours will be Friday, January 9 2015 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Timothy P.
