Obituary of Mary Sala

Mary Sala, age 80, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Lutheran Care Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Mary was born April 5, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Rosina (Ligouri) Giammarino. She married John F. Sala on June 13, 1954 at St. Mary's Church Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Sala on July 16, 1997. Mary was alocal resident since 1950 previously from of Brooklyn, New York. Mary loved to travel but what was most important to her was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was the loving mother of her son; Mark Sala of Poughkeepsie, NY; son and daughter In-law, John and Louri Sala of Pleasant Valley, NY; son and daughter In-law, Joseph and Debbie Sala of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter and son in-law Jodi and John Brewster of Poughkeepsie, NY;sister: Theresa (Thelm) Chianelli of Poughkeepsie, NY and brother Ralph Giammarino of Poughkeepsie, NY. Mary was also the beloved grandmother of PJ and Molly Loussedes , Joei Loussedes, Sam Loussedes, Jay, Stevi, Dylan and Jack Sala and great grandmother to Mila Rose Sala. In 1967 Mary was predeceased by her Son, Jay Steven Sala. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Martin DePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
