Obituary of Anne Evans

Anne Evans, 79, of Poughkeepsie died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Anne was born on May 3, 1935 in Yonkers, NY. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Viola Garlan Carroll. On February 15, 1957 she married John Evans in Long Island, NY and he survives her at home. Anne was a local resident since 2005. She had retired from the Yonkers Board of Education as a secretary in 1998. In addition to her husband John, Anne is survived by her children; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Steven Parrino of Pawling, NY, son Michael Evans of Cairo, NY, daughter and son-in-law Laura and Tom O'Hara of Carmel, NY, son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Siobhan Evans of Hyde Park, NY, son James Evans of Poughkeepsie and daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Alfredo DiVitto of Pawling, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren Ryan, Sean, Brendan, Bridget, Lisa, John, Joseph, David and Tristan. She loved her children and grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:30pm during visitation. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
