Obituary of Linda Sofka

Linda M. Sofka, age 59, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at home in Poughkeepsie. Linda was born May 28, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Thaddeaus " Ted " and the late Diane (Pizzarelli) Sofka. Linda was educated at the Maple Brook School in Amenia, New York. She was a member of the Odyssey-Hopewell Reform Church, Special Olympics, American Stardom Dance Academy, Lagrange Challenger Bowling League and the Dutchess County ARC Rec Club. Linda worked at the Workshop for Abilities First, was a previous employee at Gertrude H. Ford Tea Company and at K Mart where she was honored as an Outstanding Employee. Linda Loved to Dance, Bowl and Socialize. She is survived by her brother and sister In-law, Robert and Tracy Sofka of Lagrange, NY; nephew, Ryan Sofka of Lagrange, NY; niece, Kimberly Sofka of Lagrange, NY; aunt and uncle, Margaret and Roger Kirchner of Conway, SC; Cousins, Lori and Carl Syslo of Fishkill, NY; Michael Sofka of Poughkeepsie, NY. family friends Sandy and Peter Lasko and her cat who she loved very much Cody Calling hours will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY with Pastor Stephen Dambra officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
