This message is for the Quimby family, as well as for the entire Brown family. We are so sorry for your loss. What an incredible obituary, filled with love. I am sure your Dad is smiling at the amazing tribute you gave him. Loss is indescribably difficult, just have faith that he is watching over you all, and that you will see him again one day.

The thing that I remember most about Mike, was his exuberance and big heart, which he came by honestly enough as it was pervasive in his mother, sister nephew and nieces’ alike. His energy I could not believe because in spite of his five daughters, whom I love with the utmost affection, he seemed to have enough time for all the volunteer work in the world, and provide for a family that was both big and active. He was always inclusive with whatever he was doing and would always have a hand out to you to join him in doing it no matter what the occasion. I remember his weekly calls to my mother once his mother passed on, as he took up the role of Ciss once she passed on, and our families stayed in touch through this weekly communication. He always took the time to visit with my mother in Canada whenever he was passing or in close proximity and my mother always looked forward to those visits as did I when I was home. Mike you will be missed by more than your family, by those to whom you reached out to and touched with your soul. God bless you and your family both departed and still alive their a wealth that is appreciated by all.

Mike's obit says it all. He was a quiet man, living his quiet life with courage, commitment and grace. To say that he was a family man is an understatement. As a distant cousin from Canada, I think I can freely say on behalf of my family that we all felt like first cousins, brothers and sisters to Mike. When we were in his company, we were all important to him. For me, this was Mike's grace. And where would we be without Helen who seemed the perfect match to "Tiny" (what a lovely nickname). Helen & Mickey embodied mutual respect. It never ceased to amaze me how the two of them operated so seamlessly, so agreeable, and so harmoniously. Mike's absence is a great loss. All my love to the Brown Family during this time of sadness. The Quiet Man has passed from this world but he is not forgotten, he has spread and shared himself with so many of us that he lives on in our minds and hearts. We are truly blessed.

AN OLD IRISH BLESSING May the road rise to meet you, May the wind always be at your back, The sun shine warm upon your face, The rain fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. Life changed for us on March 15, 2015, but Uncle Mick will always be a part of our lives. His wonderful spirit, his love of life and the love of his family and friends will live on with us forever. The smiles when I think of him and all the wonderful memories he has given us will outweigh my tears of sadness and loss. With all my love to Aunt Helen and my cousins. Diane McDermott Roy
