Obituary of Betty D'Angelo

Betty Rose D'Angelo, age 87, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, March 30, 2015 at The Pines of Poughkeepsie. Betty was born November 10, 1927 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Van Nes and the late Jennie (Rozell) Plass. She married Frank " Skinny" D'Angelo on June 30, 1946 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Betty attended Hyde Park Schools, she was a member of Club 60 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Arlington Engine Company #1. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to travel, play the slots and bowl. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Dakin of Hyde Park, NY., daughter and son in-law Debi and Bruce Garrett of Pleasant Valley, NY., Daughter and son in-law Vicky and Robert Holmes of East Washington, NH. Betty is also survived by her five grandchildren, Stacey Garafano, Peter Dakin, Justin Garrett, Keith Garrett, Robert W. Holmes III and five great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Leia, Luke, Liam and Levi and several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband Frank " Skinny " D'Angelo, grandson Daniel Dakin and her nine brothers and sisters, Ruth Miles, Dorothy Hitchcock, Margaret Wilbur, Florence Farrier, Gladys Lake, Raymond Plass, Van Nes Plass, Nathan Plass and Frederick Plass. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
