Obituary of Damini Desai

Damini Desai 86 of Poughkeepsie, New York died at home on Sunday May 10, 2015. Damini was born on October 27, 1928 in Bhavnagar India, she is the daughter of the late Kantilal and Nirmala Shridharani. Damini hs been a local resident since 1999 previously of Bhavnagar, India. In 1946 Damini was married to Dwarkadas Desai, he predeceased her in 1988. Damini was a member of the Hindu Samaj, she loved painting, singing and Sewing. Damini is survived by her children, Kalpana Modi and her husband Dr. Jawesh Modi of Poughkeepsie, Nila Mehta and her husband Surendra of Virginia, Rajesh Desai and his wife Lata of Poughkeepsie, Bhavana Shah and her husband Atul. Damini was also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Harit, Pinak, Amol, Anand, Veshal, Chindan, Sagar, Puja, Pankti and Ankita. Damini was predeceased by her brother and sister inlaw Hemendra Desai and Ashita Desai. Funeral Services will be held starting at 3pm Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A cremation service will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
