Obituary of Patricia Pratt
Patricia E. Pratt, 79, of Wappingers Falls, New York, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York. Born in Syracuse, New York, on December 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Ellis and Edith Stonecipher Ellis.
On May 23, 1959, in Syracuse, Patricia married Norman Earle Pratt, son of the late Stanley and Edith Pratt. Norman predeceased her on June 10, 2008. Patricia has been a local resident since 1963. After raising her four children, Patricia continued her education and graduated from Dutchess Community College, where she received an Associate's Degree in Nursing and became an RN. Patricia worked at St. Francis Hospital in Beacon and Poughkeepsie, and later at Fishkill Home Health Care.
Patricia was a longtime member of Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 35 years. She loved to play bridge and volunteered at Second Hand Rose in Poughkeepsie in recent years.
Patricia is survived by her children, Russell David Pratt and his wife Mary Ellen of Wappingers Falls; Marcia Ellen Mori and her husband Joseph, also of Wappingers Falls; Jeffrey Allen Pratt and his wife Elaine of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and Susan Marie Reichel and her husband Gary of Poughkeepsie. Patricia is also survived by her three grandchildren, Chad, Court and Cameron, and her three brothers Amon, Boyd and Jack Ellis. Patricia was predeceased by her brothers Taskel, Glen and Hoyt Ellis, and her sister Clataree Franz.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home at 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church on New Hackensack Road in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patricia's name to the American Cancer Society.
