Obituary of Rita T. Dow

Rita T. Dow, age 89, of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Rita was born February 5, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late Peter and the late Mary (Kinsella) Lassi. She married Lois L. Dow in October of 1952 at St. Peter's Church Poughkeepsie. Rita was a retired employee of St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie NY as a Registered Nurse . Rita was a member of the Alumni of St Francis Nursing, Queen City Seniors. she liked to read, loved her grandson and her family meant the world to her. She is survived by one son: Brian L. Dow of Poughkeepsie, NY; her granddaughter Carrie Gebbie and her husband Christopher of Hyde Park, NY; her great grandson, Miles Gebbie of Hyde Park, NY; and her brother and sister In-law, John and Cathy Lassi. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Lois L. Dow, daughter, Patricia Dow, son, Peter Dow, sister, Patricia Lassi and brother In-law, Buddy Kelsey. Calling hours will be Friday, June 5 from 6pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie NY.
