Obituary of Gaye Sorrentino

Gaye K. Sorrentino, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at her home on June 13, 2015. A lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, Gaye was born on November 16, 1955, the daughter of John William and Julia S.L. Cumming Miller. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and had worked as a Teacher's Aide for Arlington Elementary School. On June 27, 1976, Gaye married Robert F. "Bob" Sorrentino at the Vassar College Garden. Bob and Gaye were the last wedding to ever be held there. Gaye loved holidays and decorating. She graduated from the Botanical Gardens in NYC for flower design. She loved flowers and art, she loved to collect, the beach, her dogs, her home in Florida, gardening and feeding her birds and squirrels. Gaye was so happy to be a grandmother for the first time. Gaye is survived by her husband Bob, her mother Julia and her beloved children; Justin Sorrentino and Jade Anable of Poughkeepsie, Gae Sorrentino of Poughkeepsie, Jonathan Sorrentino of Poughkeepsie and Krista Sorrentino of NY, NY. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Heather and Butch Cimorelli of Hyde Park, her sister Holly A. Miller of Highland, NY, her two sister-in-laws, Gloria Fiore and Lorraine Sorrentino, both of Poughkeepsie, her Aunt Grace, cousins Lorraine and Dennis Parker and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving Gaye are her dogs Shelby and Lilly. In addition to her father, Gaye was predeceased by Frank and Gloria Sorrentino, her in-laws. Gaye is now at peace with her father, John. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The Funeral Service will be Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00am in the funeral home. The Family and Gaye's wishes is for you to wear colorful colors to the wake and service.
