Obituary of Alice F. Ward

Alice F. Ward, age 85, of the Town of Lagrange, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her granddaughters home in Pleasant Valley. Alice was born on March 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arthur M. and the late Caroline (Daniels) Flanagan Rose. She married John E. " Jackie" Ward in January 1949 at St. Mary's Rectory in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. " Jackie" Ward on May 15, 2003. She was employed by IBM as a Secretary retiring after 25 years of employment, she also worked previously at DeLaval and Daystrum. Alice was a member of IBM Quarter Century Club and she did a lot of volunteer work with IBM at their family outings and holidays. Alice loved being with and doing things for her family. She loved to tell stories, travel and work on crossword puzzles. She is survived by one daughter: Diane L. Ward of Poughkeepsie, NY; grandchildren Lynda D. Cussick-Rock and her husband John of Pleasant Valley, Shawn M. Baker and Debra Whispell; great grandchildren Kyle C. Hough, Carolynn M. Hough, Brandon J. Cussick, Sarah A. Hough and John P. Boback; sisters Shirley Fuller, Kathleen Oneto and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Alice was also predeceased by her two sisters and a brother Patricia Tornatore, Mary Varone and Arthur M. Flanagan. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 25 2015 from at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery Poughkeepsie, New York.
