Obituary of Nancy Kivlin
Nancy A. Kivlin, aka Vincenza Altamura, long life resident of Sarasota Florida passed away peacefully on July 3, 2015 in Highland, NY. She was 103.
Nancy was born on November 24, 1911 in Ruvo di Puglia Bari, Italy to her parents, Nicola and Anna Altamura. She arrived in the United States in 1930. She married Michael Perillo in 1931 and had one son, Joseph John Perillo Sr... Nancy studied hairdressing in Manhattan, NY then opened her own beauty parlor in Westchester NY. When Nancy retired she opened an eatery, "Nancy's Kitchen", was located in Highland Lakes NJ.
Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor; she lived life to the fullest spending time with loved ones, family, and friends near and far. Her warmth, kindness and generosity shined throughout her life, making many of friends along the way. She loved to travel, garden, cook, read and be near the ocean.
Nancy is survived by her daughter in law, Joan Perillo and three grandchildren, Joseph John Perillo Jr. his wife Paula Marie Perillo, Sabrina Marie Wells, and Deana Marie Perillo. Nancy had five great grandchildren Daniel Scott Wells, Morgan Marie Wells, Dean Joseph Perillo, Samuel Joseph Perillo, and Roseanna Marie Perillo.
She is preceded in death by her late husband John L. Kivlin, son Joseph John Perillo Sr. and by her five siblings Joseph, Guy, Victor, Lena and Ann Altamura.
A morning 10:00 o'clock mass will be offered on July 18, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church, 417 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, New York 10522. Nancy will be buried at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Ossining New York, following the mass. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or of your choice.
