Obituary of Arthur Rose
Arthur E. Rose, age 81, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on July 16, 2015. He was born on October 30, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Edward A. Rose and Catherine Wood Rose.
Arthur served in the National Guard from 1951-1952. He owned and operated Art Rose Custom Floor Covering in Poughkeepsie. He served as the Deputy Chief of the Arlington Fire District, retiring in 1987. He was also a life member of Arlington Engine Company #1. Arthur was a charter member and served as the First President of Local 2393 Arlington Professional Firefighters.
On May 13, 1951, in Poughkeepsie, he married Dolores Jean Lysko, the love of his life for 65 years. Mrs. Rose survives at home in Sebastian, Florida. He is also survived by his children Jeffrey (Carol), Mary Rose (Donald Rebaglia), Patrick (Dia), Edward (Cristy), Suzzanne Kovar (Michael), Thomas (Jill), grandchildren, Kyle (Erica), Katie, Annie (Darrick), Kerry (Jason), Chris, Tim, Nick, Sophia, Ian (Kristie, Brittany, Samantha, Lila, Sierra, Sean, Dan, Madison and Samantha, great grandchildren, Morgan, Jayden, Alexandr.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, his brother William and sisters, Eleanor Parker, Alice Bogad and Vivian Angelo.
Calling hours will be held Thursday July 30, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial is Planned for 10am Friday July 31, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church 775 Main Street Poughkeepsie, New York. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
