Obituary of Joan Williams

Joan B Williams, age 89, of Williamsburg, VA, died Saturday, July 25, 2015.Joan was born May 15, 1926 in New York, NY. She is the daughter of the late Phillip T. and the late Margaret (Kelly) Sheehan. She married Richard T. Williams he predeceased her in 1997. Joan was a maker, a member of St. Martin dePorres church, Dutchess Golf and Country Club and a volunteer with St. Francis Auxiliary. Joan also loved to Golf and play Bridge. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law; JoAnn and James Giesen of Williamsburg, VA and son; Richard T. Williams of Acton, MA; two brothers: George Sheehan of Bay Shore, LI, Robert Sheehan of Syosset, LI; she also has six grandchildren, William and Katherine Giesen; , Laura and James Russell Haskin; Brian and Janet Giesen; Michael Giesen; Julia Williams; Kerry and Brett Williams; seven great grandchildren, Alex, Owen, Matthew, Jack Giesen and Drew, Rhys, Ryan Haskin. Joan was also predeceased by her brothers, Phillip Sheehan and Bill Sheehan. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:15 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Martin DePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
