Obituary of Stephen Aiken
Stephen Noel Aiken, 61, of New York/Maryland passed away on August. 26, 2015 peacefully at John Hopkins Hospital.
Stephen was born in Brooklyn NY on October 24,1953. He graduated from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn NY and continued on
to receive an Associate Degree while serving in the Air Force in California.
He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1981 after serving four years, and received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and
the Air Force Longevity Service Award.
Stephen was married to Pamela Felder on Feb. 23, 1981 ; they were married for 34 years but longtime friends since 1975.
Stephen worked as a Counselor for the Department of Juvenile Justice for the City of NY for 28 years.
He had an overall enjoyment for life and a wicked sense of humor that was accompanied by an infectious laugh that made everyone smile. He was also actively involved in making life better for the younger generation, advocating for higher education, and a greater sense of self worth.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife Pamela of 34 years; his children, son's Stephen ll and Paris and daughter's Asia and Ariel; two grandchildren Javon and Nyla-Skye; and goddaughter Dureka
sister's Linda, Nancy and Pat; and brother's, John and Darrell, uncle Greenie and his wife Sarah. Including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins;
and the rest of his family, friends and co-workers.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Brody and Polly Aiken; siblings Gail and Glen; godson Javon.
Funeral Services will be held 1pm Saturday September 5, 2015 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
