With deepest sorrow our Granny has passed and heaven has gained another angel. Joan F. (Goeres) Manning-Smith, 83, of Hyde Park, NY passed away on September 16, 2015. A beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Granny was loved by everyone and will be terribly missed. This vibrant and kind soul was born on June 24, 1932 to the late Helen and Kenneth Goeres and spent every day of her life giving love to those around her, including her late sister Constance Nenni and her late brother Kenneth Goeres.

Joan worked as a senior secretary for IBM for many years. On June 15, 2008 Joan married her soul mate, the late Roger Smith. Together they enjoyed playing in the Banjo Band, and spending time with their many friends and family.
Joan is survived by her sons Terrance Manning and his girl Carmela Zanck, John Manning and wife Kirma. Granny enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Brian, Jaime, Michelle, Michael, Kenneth, and Christopher; as well as her great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Bryce, Marissa, and Brayden and a whole list of other people.
All who knew her will always remember her warm, caring heart, selfless kindness, French kisses, and willingness to put cheer in others lives. Her selfless acts of kindness remind us all that we should embrace each day and one another with smiles and laughter. She was truly one of a kind, and a real classy lady.
