Obituary of Jules Shayo

Jules E. Shayo, age 87, of Highland, NY, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at home. Jules was born February 22, 1928 in Yonkers, NY. He is the son of the late Harry and Helen (Weiss) Shayo. He married Raylene Kahn on June 29, 1952 in Albany, New York. Jules was a local accountant. He was former President of the Kiwanis Club and Past Master of Poughkeepsie Masonic Lodge and Triune-Obed Lodge. Jules was also Past District Deputy of the Dutchess Masonic District, Monarch of Tri Po Bed Grotto and Past State President of the Empire State Grotto Association.. Jules has been a local resident since 1938. He was a Graduate of St. John's University, Class of 1950. Jules was a private pilot who loved to fly. He was an avid NY Giants (baseball) and Mets fan. He is survived by his wife: Raylene, of Highland, NY ; son, Allen Shayo, of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Roberta Shayo, of Cold Spring, NY, daughter In-law, Deborah Shayo, son In-law, Joseph Barbaro, and grandchildren Erin Eisen and Christopher Gilbert. The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Temple Beth-El, South Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at the Temple Beth El Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
