Obituary of Joan Angelo

Joan A. Angelo, age 84, died peacefully at her beloved daughters home in Hyde Park, NY on October 24, 2015. Mrs. Angelo was born on January 8, 1931 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is the daughter of the late William and Mildred (Light) Weber. She is predeceased by Albert C. Angelo whom she married on November 12, 1948 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Bill, Lewis and Jack Weber as well as her sisters Sara Prince and Catherine West. Joan is survived by her twin sister Jean Catalano and brother-in-law James, sister Paula McComb and sister-in-law Alice Weber. She is also survived by her daughter Keely Ann Angelo & son-in-law David Terwilliger, son Joseph Angelo & daughter-in-law Nancy, son Albert Angelo and daughter-in-law Sandra, her grandchildren Kelly Angelo (Frank Lombardi), Tara Angelo Burke (Mark Burke), Stacie Angelo (Michael P. Kenny), Christopher Angelo, Andrea Angelo (Jim Veronesi) and John Angelo as well as six great-grandchildren, Bryan, Travis, Blake, Jack, Carmine and Jinna and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was employed at many different local restaurants including The Red Door Inn and Petitos. She "wrapped up" her career in food service at Central Hudson and retired in March of 1991. She was affectionately called Meem or Gram by those who loved her. She loved vacations at the beach, trips to Atlantic City, White Zin, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and great-grand dogs Izzie and Roxie. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday October 28, 2015 from 5-8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. The Funeral Service will be held 11am Thursday October 29, 2015 at the Funeral Home Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery Salt Point Turnpike Poughkeepsie, New York.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter, 2 Little Jefferson Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
