Obituary of Pauline Close

Pauline M. Close, age 86, of Lagrange, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie NY. Pauline was born September 15, 1929 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Louis and the late Jadwiga Zielinski Shegda. Pauline was married to Leon Straszewski on July 24, 1953 he predeceased her in 1974. On June 22, 1991 Pauline married Robert L. Close in Pleasant Valley, New York, Robert survives at home. She was employed by the Simon and Group Corp. in Depew, NY., she also worked at Western Printing in Poughkeepsie, New York for 24 years and she also previously worked at IBM Fishkill for 8 years until her retirement. Pauline was a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter 428 of Hyde Park, New York. Pauline loved to sew, dance and play the keyboard. She is survived by her husband: Robert L. Close of Lagrange, NY., son and daughter In-law, Leon and Sue Straszewski of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Robert Straszewski of Austin, TX; step- daughter, Daphne Scarafoni of New Paltz, NY., step-daughter and son In-law, Suzanne and Mark Twitchell of Hyde Park, NY. sister, Louise Patrick and brother Arthur Shegda. Pauline is also survived by her grandchildren, Richard A., Tyler J., Cain J. and Alena Straszewski, Ciara Reilly, Adam J. and Jaelyn S. Twitchell, Danielle Rogers, Heidi and Robin Adolphsen and One great grandson Liam Adolphsen. Pauline was predeceased by her son Jeff Close and daughter, Pamela Close, brother Thaddeus Shegda and nephew Arthur Shegda. Calling hours will be held 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. The funeral will be held 11am Thursday December 3, 2015 in the Funeral Home. Burial will be Private and at the Convenience of the family.
