Obituary of Carmela Leo

Carmela M. Leo, age 72, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, November 23, 2015 at River Valley Care Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Carmelo was born December 22, 1942 in White Plains, NY. She is the daughter of the late Salvatore and the late Mary (Malino) Daniele. She married her High School Sweet Heart Henry Gardiner in 1961. Henry Predeceased her in 2006. In 1984 she married George Rimpinen who survives in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 1995 she married Anthony Leo he predeceased her 2014. She was employed by Lockwood Heating And Cooling as a Office Manager. She volunteered often at St. Thomas Elementary and Cottage Schools in Pleasantville. She was a parishioner at Holy Innocents in Pleasantville. She dedicated her life to do ministry work for people who lived in the Poughkeepsie area. She is survived by her daughter Sallie Gardiner and husband Bob Shenefield of Lake Carmel, NY., five grandchildren, Ronald III, Joshua, Caressa, Jordan, Matthew, two great grandchildren Haley and Angelina. She is also survived by her two brothers, Leo Daniele, John Daniele, her 100 year old Aunt Constance Guardino and several nieces and nephews. Carmela was predeceased by her son Henry Gardiner and a brother Salvatore. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at All Souls Cemetery, 175 Marble Ave. Pleasantville, NY. Local Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P.
