Obituary of Thomas E. Gleason
Tom Gleason Jr. a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie passed away on Tuesday, December 15th 2015 in Florida.
Born April 26th 1929, He was the son of Thomas and Rose Gleason. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and played on the County All Star Football team for two years. He is survived by his two sisters Betty Allen Clark of Poughkeepsie, NY and Lillian Dunn of Fishkill, NY. His companion Claudette Hall of Florida also survives him.
Tom worked for the family business and when his father retired he took over Thomas Gleason Inc. His dedication and hard work contributed to the business becoming the oldest excavating company in Dutchess County. In following the tradition, his children took over the business upon his retirement. While retired he enjoyed still staying actively involved with the construction company and traveling to Vegas. Tom was a life member of Elks Lodge #275. He also was an avid hunter.
In addition, Tom is survived by his three children Thomas L Gleason, Laura Gleason Knull, Patrick Gleason, and their mother Marie Gleason. He also has many grandchildren, a great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
