Obituary of Beverly Feroe
Beverly C Feroe, 87, of Poughkeepsie, NY, entered into Heaven on January 2, 2016 at the Lutheran Care Center. Known to family and friends a Bev, she was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on February 6, 1928 and was the only child of Raymond A Caldwell and Ruth Croshier Caldwell. She attended Arlington Schools and later worked as a clerk at Western Printing.
Growing up across the street from one another, Bev and Harold B Feroe began dating in later high school. On May 15, 1948, they were married at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Arlington and honeymooned in New York City, later traveling to Niagara Falls. In 1956 Bev and Harold had a house built in LaGrange NY, where Harold Still resides.
Bev was a founding member of the Overlook School Parent Teachers Association, a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and her son, and a member of the Overlook Estates Woman's Association. Her hobbies included sewing (especially mother and daughter matching dresses), knitting, baking, making candles, bargello, and in later years raising Keeshonds and enjoying her beloved Golden Retrievers. At the end of the day, the family would often gather and sing old songs as Dave and Harold played guitar. Her most pride filled moments were spent in grandstands watching her son play football and her daughter marching with the Admiralettes.
For at least 20 years, the family vacationed at Paradox Lake in the Arirondacks for 2 weeks every July. There, Bev enjoyed family canoe trips, swimming, snorkeling, horseback riding, chasing bats out of the cabin, and relaxing with all that nature had to offer there. In their later years, Bev and Harold enjoyed traveling abroad, and vacationing in Florida and Virginia.
Bev's entire life was devoted to being a wonderful wife to Harold and an extraordinary mom to her children. Her Love of family was evident by the radiant smile she always had. She is survived by her husband Harold B Feroe; her son David R Feroe and wife Ann; her daughter Janette Feroe Weidler; grandchildren Kellie Couch and husband Steve, Timothy Feroe and partner Jen D'Agostino, and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Tyler, and Averie. She was predeceased in May 2010 by her son-in-law Robert Weidler.
Bev had survived cancer twice in her lifetime and passed of natural causes. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be at the convenience of her family with no calling hours.
The Feroe family thanks the staff on 2 south at The Lutheran Care Center and Bev's Hospice RN Donna for the care and compassion given to Bev and her family. In Bev's honor and memory, we would welcome any donations made to the charity or organization of your choice.
