Obituary of Michael Hynes
Michael F. Hynes, 72, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in New York City on September 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Gilmartin Hynes. He has been a local resident for 45 years. Michael had served in the United States Marines and was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minister, and the American Legion. In October 1964 he married Mary A. Collins in New York City and she predeceased him. Michael had worked as a mechanic for Con Edison. He was an avid sports fan and was a fan of the Lady Foxes Basketball team at Marist College. Michael is survived by his children; Jeanette and Joseph Maruscsak of Ballston Spa, NY and Daria and William Barry of Rhinebeck, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Sean, Megan and Colin Maruscsak and Emma and Jack Barry, as well as his sister Marion Young of Garnerville, NY and his brother Peter Hynes of Texas. In addition to his wife Mary, Michael was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Thomas Hynes and his sister Anna Hynes. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 , at 10:00am at St. Martin de Porres Church and burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
