Obituary of David Peterson

David R. Peterson, 71, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. David had been a local resident since 1973 and was previously of Westchester. He had lived in California a good portion of his life before moving to Westchester. He was born in White Plains, NY on May 12, 1944 to the late Ray and Ruth Fernandez Peterson. David served in the US Army and was a member of the Calvary Chapel of the Hudson Valley. On August 17, 1968 he married Sharon R. Orser in Ossining, NY and she survives him at home. David had worked as a driver for Conway Freight, retiring three and a half years ago. He loved woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and loved to travel with his wife. In addition to his wife, Sharon, David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Darren Bisaccia of Highland, NY and his daughter Janet Peterson of Poughkeepsie, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Devin Bisaccia, Haley Peterson, Brandon Bisaccia, Rachel Traver, Nicholas Traver and Lindsay Bisaccia, as well as his great-grandchildren; Daniel and Gillian Bisaccia and Jacqueline Bumpus. Additionally, David is survived his sisters; Christine Becker, of Owasso, OK, Rebecca Reale of White Plains, NY, Sarah Storr of Mahopac, NY and his brothers John Mark Peterson of Bethel, CT and Philip Peterson of Portchester, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 12:00 to 3:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm following visitation. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
