Obituary of EDWARD ROGERS

Edward Harold Rogers, Jr., 83, of Pleasant Valley, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Edward and Julia Hosier Rogers, Sr. He attended Hyde Park Schools. Edward had been employed by Eberhardt Builders for 25 years and the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery for 15 years before retiring. He married Alice Travis in Hyde Park, NY and she predeceased him in 2008. After retiring Edward moved to Tupper Lake, NY, where he enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Surviving him are his children; son and daughter-in-law Harold and Jill Rogers of Colorado and his daughter Louisa Katzenberger of Pleasant Valley, NY. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren Joseph and Sean Rogers of Colorado and Evelyn and Timothy Katzenberger of Pleasant Valley, as well as his two sisters; Edna Houghtaling of Pleasant Valley and Joan Dykeman of Fishkill, NY. In addition to his wife Alice, Edward was predeceased by his son Joseph Rogers in 1979 and his son-in-law Kenneth Katzenberger in 2013. Edward has requested there be no calling hours or flowers.
