Obituary of Donald Hicks

Donald L. Hicks, age 83, of Lagrange, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Renaissance Nursing Home of Staatsburg, NY. Don was born April 1, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late Nelson and the late Anna (Smith) Hicks. He married Ellen F. Hakanson on May 7, 1905 at Poughkeepsie, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Ellen F. Hakanson on March 21, 2004. He served in the Army during the Korean war. He was the owner of Don Hicks Mobil Poughkeepsie, NY. Don enjoyed working on and collecting cars. He is survived by one son: Donald R. Hicks of Poughkeepsie, NY; his daughter and son In-law, Judy and Kevin Temple of Lagrange, NY; his four grandaughters, Laura, Melessia, Alyssa, Emilie and six great grandchildren. Don was also predeceased by his , two brother and two sisters. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
