Obituary of Singlea Hall

Singlea E. Hall, 86, of Poughkeepsie, NY, and previously of New Rochelle, NY, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She has been a local resident since 2013. Born in Lockport, NY on June 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Singlea Hall. Singlea received her two Masters Degree in Special Education from the College of New Rochelle and the University of Buffalo. She also received her BS in nursing from Flower Fifth Avenue in New York City. She had worked as a school nurse, a Hospice nurse and previously had worked for the VA Hospital in Tacoma Washington. Singlea is survived by her children; Peggy Kerr-Meryering and her husband Tom of LaGrange, NY, Stephen Kerr of Mt. Kisco, NY and Pamela Martin and her husband Dan Gates of CO. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joseph and James Kruk, Alec and Gwen Martin and Stephanie Meryering and her husband Kevin Beahan, as well as her brother-in-law Richard Reyes of CT, nephew Peter Reyes, her great-nieces Naomi Reyes Parker and Gaby Reyes and her previous husband Richard Kerr. In addition to her parents, Singlea was predeceased by her sister Janet Reyes and cousin Arthur Reyes. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
