Obituary of E. JAMES

E. Lloyd James, 86, passed away at the Renaissance Nursing Home located in Staatsburg, NY on Thursday, May 26, 2016. He was born on January 11, 1930 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Lloyd worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. He also was a truck driver for Axton-Cross until his retirement. Lloyd was a member of Teamsters Local 445. He was an avid railroad hobbyist. For over twenty years, he owned and operated a Motor Car Speeder and traveled over many host railroads through the United States and Canada. On March 1, 1953 at St. Paul's Church in Poughkeepsie, NY., he married Betty Jean Cypher. She predeceased him on July 6, 2008 after 55 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Robert F. James and Ella M. James. Survivors include Karen (Robert) Avery of Old Saybrook, CT; Deborah L. James of Hyde Park, NY; William L. James of Poughkeepsie, NY; Cathy Miranda of Poughkeepsie, NY; Brian (Krystle) James of Clinton Corners, NY; grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 10am Wednesday June 1, 2016 at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum, 342 South Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
