Obituary of Edward MacIsaac
Edward J. MacIsaac, Sr., age 84, of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at home in Poughkeepsie. Ed was born February 9, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late John Angus and the late Mary Ellen (Burke) MacIsaac. He married Bernice Germiller on October 25, 1953 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, NY.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1955. He was employed by IBM Poughkeepsie retiring after 41 years of service. Ed was a local resident all his life.He was a graduate of Arlington High School the Class of 1951. Ed was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the American Legion Post 1302. Ed was an avid sports fan and Red Sox fan, he loved Baseball, Golf, Football and Basketball.
He is survived by his wife: Bernice (Germiller) MacIsaac of Poughkeepsie, NY., his daughter: Catherine Gallagher and her husband Gregg of Poughkeepsie, NY., his three sons: Edward MacIsaac and his wife Barbara of Poughkeepsie, NY., Neil MacIsaac and his wife Marleen of Poughkeepsie, NY., Matthew MacIsaac and his wife Cheryl of Poughkeepsie, NY., five grandchildren Neil MacIsaac, Corey Gallagher, Meighan Gallagher, Sean MacIsaac, Danette Burnett and his three great grandchildren Sabastian Burnett, Madeline Burnett and Elliott MacIsaac and many nieces and nephews.. Ed is also survived by his four sister in-laws and one brother in-law, he was predeceased by his son Kevin MacIsaac and four sisters and seven brothers.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dutchess for the care and help that was given to Ed.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 12 from 2pm to 6pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY with officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie..
