Obituary of Elizabeth Russell

Elizabeth " Betty Ann " Russell, Poughkeepsie, died Monday, June 27, 2016 surrounded by her family at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital Poughkeepsie, NY. Betty Ann was born July 10, 1939 in Beacon, NY. She is the daughter of the late John J. and the late Elizabeth (Senchack) Antalek. She married James E. Russell on September 2, 1961 at St. John's Catholic Church in Beacon, New York. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Russell on January 16, 1994. Betty Ann was a local resident all of her life. She was a graduate of Beacon High School and also a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by St. Francis Hospital Poughkeepsie NY for 54 years for 30 years she was a Registered Post Anesthesia Care Nurse. Betty Ann was a member of St. Martin dePorres Church and she was a member of the St. Francis School of Nursing Alumni Association. Betty Ann loved to travel, go to the Music Theater, loved gardening, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles, being out by her pool and most of all she loved being around her family. She is survived by two daughters: Ellen Russell of Poughkeepsie, NY and Elizabeth Ann Russell of Poughkeepsie, NY, two sons: James J. Russell of Poughkeepsie, NY and John D. Russell and his wife Paula Russell of Poughkeepsie, NY., her grandchildren James C. Russell and his wife Caileigh of Staatsburg, NY., Curtis J. Russell and his wife Katlyn of California, Timothy M. Russell of Highland, NY., Victoria R. Russell of Poughkeepsie, NY and great grandsons Joshua and Brentley.. Betty Ann is also survived by her sister's Eileen Shea of Hyde Park, NY., Rose Farrell of Beacon, NY., Marie Smith of Fishkill, NY., and her brothers, James Antalek and his wife Fay of Stuyvesant, NY., Andy Antalek of Beacon, NY. and Robert Antalek and his wife Michelle of Beacon, NY. and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4pm to 9pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Martin DePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York.
