Obituary of Evelyn Antonakos

Evelyn D. Antonakos, age 92, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Lutheran Care Center Poughkeepsie, NY. Evelyn was born December 4, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late George and the late Stephanie (Loukakls) Duke. She married the late George Antonakos on June 11, 2016 In Brooklyn, New York. Evelyn previously owned The Plaza Restaurant and the Riverside Restaurant. Her and her husband also owned Poughkeepsie Billiard Supplies and Gold Crown Billiards. Evelyn was very in evolved in the Church helping with BINGO and was also a member of the Philoptochos Assoc. She is survived by Her son and daughter in-law: Greg and Melody Antonakos of Staatsburg, NY; and her two grandchildren Gregory and Nicholas Antonakos, and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Stephen G. Antonakos and her three brothers and two sisters, Louis Duke, Gus Duke, James Duke, Ester Michaels and Angelica Duke. The funeral will be held on 10am Wednesday July 13, 2016 at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
