Obituary of Abraham Santiago
First and most important, Abraham was a Jehovah Witness, in the East Poughkeepsie Congregation, who was dearly loved by many from all around the world.
Born October 30, 1953 in the Bronx, NY son to the late Abraham Santiago III and Diana Santiago. His family moved from the Bronx to Nyack, NY in the 1960s. Graduate from Clarkstown North High School. He attended college at Fredonia, NY.
He married the love of his life Vanessa Adel Santiago on Saturday June 14, 1975 and defined a Three Fold Cord for 41 years. They remained side by side until his final day. Abraham & Vanessa gave birth to two children, Abraham Santiago IV and JaAna Adel Santiago. He took pride in being a Father figure to Danielle Pitts, Kyp Mitchell and Grandfather figure to Daesean & Daevon Dingle, Brianna & Kypp Mitchell. To all his children's friends he was simply known as "Papi" and he loved them as his own. He had two grand dogs Faith & Rhyno... Also known as "The Other Woman & Homeboy"
Abe was predeceased by his Father Abraham Santiago II and his sister Amanda Santiago.
He is survived by his brother Fabian Santiago, his wife Ann Santiago. His sister Adriana Brown, her husband Jaime Brown. His sister Carmen Perry, her husband Leon Perry. His mother in-law Jane Griffin. His sister in law Pearlene Derello, her husband Wyoming Derello. His brother in laws Raymond & James Kelly.
He was a loving Uncle to Andrew Santiago, Alana Santiago, Curtis Arceneaux, Rachel Derello, Michael Kelly, Jonathan Kelly, Carmen Kelly and Yasmin Perry.
He also leaves many long time friends Rueben & Charlene Tillman, their children Chip & Corrie, Anaafi & Constance Sakyi, Carl Prather, Butchie Baptista, Gene & Dorrain Palmer, Nate Soloman, Dave Roberts and Roger Patrice and so many others.
He loved to play sports throughout school and was an avid sports fan who followed the Yankees, the Giants and the NY Knicks. Some of Abe & Vanessa's fondest memories were at conventions and vacationing in Lake George.
Abe took comfort in Romans 8:38,39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from Gods love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
